Aryn Bowers

Aryn was born in Whitehorse, Yukon, in 1978. Though he now lives in White Rock, B.C., he still thinks of the Yukon as home and enjoys returning for canoe and rafting trips.

Aryn crafts jewellery out of mammoth ivory and semi-precious stones. The ivory comes from Dawson City, where placer miners find mammoth tusks that can be 10,000 years old. Because wooly mammoths are extinct, it is legal to use the ivory as a material in jewellery.

Aryn is also a poet, sculptor, printmaker, and practitioner of Bikram Yoga.
