Mark Preston is a multidisciplinary Tlingit artist who works in a variety of media. His minimalist motifs symbolize clarity, peacefulness, and open-mindedness. Preston cites Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci as early influences, although works by Picasso, Rothko, Bill Reid, and Ted Harrison have all served as inspiration. His contemporary pieces are inspired by minimalism and abstraction. His Tlingit name is Tenna-Tsa-Teh.
