  • Hand carved from locally sourced drift wood
  • Carved by Stan Reynolds in Dawson City, Yukon.
  • Stan and Ruth moved to Yukon from McBride, British Columbia in the fall of 1967 with four young children.  He had been outfitting in B.C. prior to coming to the Dawson City area.  They purchased the North Fork Hydro site, built a home and used it as a home base for horses and aircraft used for the business.  In 1975 Stan started to make gold and ivory jewelry as a hobby but found it to work well for a winter job.  His love of the Yukon, its history and the wildlife he worked with, led to scrimshaw work as well as jewelry.  While guiding in the Ogilvie Mountains he found lots of shed moose antlers which are used in making belt buckles and paper weights.  The mammoth ivory was found by gold miners working on Hunker and Dominion creeks, the same place most of the gold comes from for his jewelry.  Stan retired from the outfitting and guiding in the fall of 2003 but continues to make jewelry and scrimshaw items.  He also fills in his spare time looking for rock and flint knapping.
