Stan Reynolds

Stan moved to Dawson City in 1967 and set himself up as a guide. In 1975 he started to make gold and mammoth ivory jewelry through the long winters using the natural materials available in the area. This led to creating scrimshaw work as well from the abundant mammoth ivory. While guiding in the Ogilvie Mountains he found lots of shed moose antlers which he put to use making belt buckles and paper weights. Mammoth ivory has been found by gold miners working on Hunker and Dominion creeks for decades, the same place most of the gold comes from for his jewelry.  Stan retired from outfitting and guiding in the fall of 2003 but continues to make jewelry and scrimshaw items.
