Handmade in Arviat, Nunavut
Arviat is a traditional Inuit community of 1500 people located on he west short of Hudson's Bay in Northern Canada. This is the place that polar bears and beluga whales call home. It is also where ulus and inukshuks are found. Our unique products attest to the sewing skill that Inuit woman have developed over years of making traditional clothing. The wall hangings and other products capture the image of the region.
Local seamstresses have carefully and skillfully made this unique product using traditional designs. "Kiluk" means stitch in the Inuktitut language.
